Image Manipulation

The Image Manipulation subgroup is composed by:

The partners have contributed to the image compression problem, by implementing a variety of fast image transforms and by comparing and integrating the main current approaches:

• Wavelet method- static
• Fractal method based on IFS ; a comparison of IFS method with JPEG has also been performed.
• Wavelet method - dynamic
• Integration of image manipulation algorithms into VINCI code
• Experiments on Undine wavelet compression algorithm to test the quality on satellite images.
