Image Synthesis

The Image Synthesis subgroup is composed by:

The partners have contributed to three main topics:

• the implementation of a common platform for volume visualisation across a variety of worksations and across wide area network

• a review and comparison among different methods to generate sinthetic images based on ray tracing technique ( at DSI , and at MLV ) using parallel ( at DSI , at Manchester and at MLV ), adopting a common modelling language SMILE

• a new method to generate synthetic holograms from geometric models and based on optical field computation using radiosity method.
